Local FacesRemembering men and women from the Goulburn district who served during WW2
Women and men from the Goulburn district made a substantial contribution to the Allied war effort during WW2. This Virtual Honour Roll commemorates their service by displaying the faces of these service personnel and providing guided access to their records recently digitised by the National Archives of Australia (NAA). The records are drawn from NAA Series B883 Second Australian Imperial Force Personnel Dossiers, 1939-1947, which contains the records of 2362 Australians who were either born in Goulburn and/or enlisted in Goulburn during this period.
Currently, just over 600 of these records are digitised and made available via this browser by either clicking on an image or by using the search option. The images were primarily taken during the enlistment process and attached to the rear of the Attestation Form - around half of the records do not include images and can only be found by searching. Digitisation of Series B883 continues and is due for completion by June 2023, at which time approximately 1700 additional Goulburn records will be added to the Honour Roll.
Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum is committed to expanding the Honour Roll with images that may be held by family members or in other collections – particularly for records that do not currently include an image.
